Zambia Mural

I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer with IVHQ for three weeks at Will Christian Academy in Livingstone, Zambia. During my time there, I assisted with teaching PreK through 5th grade classes.

While I was there, I also had the chance to design and help paint a full school mural on one of the classroom walls. I sketched out initial ideas and watched the project come to life as teachers and students joined in at every stage, taking turns adding color and helping build the final image together.

We chose a powerful elephant alongside Zambia’s national motto, “One Zambia, One Nation,” as the heart of the mural. The painting days were filled with music, stories, and lots of laughter.

I left Zambia deeply moved by the kindness and community I experienced and the friendships I formed.
