Community Crosswalk

This crosswalk was created as part of a community beautification project in Laramie, in partnership with Laramie Public Art Coalition (LPAC), who helped share and organize the community paint day. The design takes inspiration from the Rec Center’s amazing resources and all the ways people here move, play, and explore the outdoors. I set it up like a giant “paint by numbers,” sketching out the design and labeling each section by color. Then the community was invited to jump in and help paint it.

It turned into such a fun, collaborative day—people of all ages filling in shapes, adding color, and literally stepping into the artwork together. Everyone did such an amazing job, and it was incredible to watch the crosswalk come alive through so many hands.
